Milestone

Lakely can sit up! We're having such a blast each night playing in the floor with her after school! She comes straight home, eats some rice cereal with bananas and then it's fun time in the floor :) She is changing each and every day, which is making it harder and harder to leave her at school in the mornings. I feel like I'm going to miss something! What a joy she's been to our lives; we are very blessed :)

My Little Dinosaur

Our poor baby was very sick this Halloween so no trick-or-treating for her, but we did get a little photo shoot of her in her costume :)

4 Month Check-Up

Our baby girl is getting so big! She went for her shots this week and she was such a trooper. The doctor said she looks great even though the poor thing has a bad cold. She is so congested, her nose keeps running and her cough sounds painful but the little thing is full of smiles! Her weight this visit was in the 80th percentile at 15.2 lbs., and her height in the 55th percentile at 25 1/2 inches. Her head is a good size too, but I can't recall what the measurement was. All in all it was a great check-up; just praying that Lakely's cold doesn't turn into something more serious. Her classmate was just diagnosed with RSV and pneumonia so keep your fingers crossed that she'll be okay!

Lakely's First Playdate

We went to Ms. Jenny's and Charlie's house this weekend to have some fun with friends! Kate and Finley were over there too and we had such a great time. When Lakely and I got home Tony and I placed her in her crib to see if she would roll over without me helping...(she was SO close before we left to go to Jenny's so I had to make sure I gave her another opportunity). Low and behold she rolled right over within a few seconds and Tony and I both got to see it! We were so happy for her we were screaming and cheering, which caused a little frown from the princess :( But after some tickling, her big smile was back and I think she was pretty proud of herself!

We all got to eat at the same time! MIRACLE

She's a Movie Star!

Lakely had the Channel 5 News come to her daycare last week to do a story on the Swine Flu. (No there aren't any cases there, they were just using the babies as props). Anyhow, Lakely got her big debut while swinging and sitting in the floor with her teacher. You can check it out here:

Her teacher emailed me a picture of her today. The lesson was "Say Cheese" and I think she caught on pretty quickly!

First Beach Trip - Dedicated to Aunt Betsy

FYI-I did NOT buy this bib, it was a gift!

We went to Hilton Head with Tony's parents for the week. Aunt Betsy and Uncle Mike were going to meet us as well, but within an hour into their trip down, they had to turn around :( Betsy is 13 weeks preggo and the car ride just wasn't doing it for her! She feels much better now thank goodness! The house that we stayed in was awesome; certainly enough room for all of us AND Lakely's stuff. So much to bring for those little things ;) Tony and his Dad played golf the first two days and then we would all hit the beach for the afternoon. We had a sun dome for Lakely to sit under in her bouncy seat and she seemed to really enjoy it. She's definitely accepted the role of a beach babe already!

Lakely also learned some new tricks this week. She now puts weight on her legs when you stand her up (as opposed to crumpling). She holds on to all of her toys now for a long time with out dropping them and she's been giggling like a giggle box. She wants to sit up so bad she can't stand it. If she's leaning on something, or is in my lap, she'll lunge forward. As far as the tummy time though, I've got nothin'. She still hates it.

Big Week!

Our big girl at school!

Date night!

Friend's Birthday!

Last Monday I started back to work, Lakely had her first day of school, AND she had her first sitter Friday night! So many big "firsts" occurred, but I really have no complaints! Given it was hard to go back to work, I am really pleased with where she is staying during the day. They even emailed a picture of her on the first day(probably because I left the building sobbing). She only goes Mon-Thur because Fridays I have off, so it's not too shabby. Friday and Saturday we had birthday parties to go to and Lakely enjoyed her sitters both nights. I felt guilty having some one watch her two nights in a row, but the first night she was asleep before the sitter came, and the second night she was with a friend from school and we got home early. We had a super time but I know that sitters can't happen each weekend or we'll go broke! I can't believe the going rate these days!

Baptismal Video

We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend with family and friends! Lakely was baptised on the 6th and it was absolutely beautiful! She was such a trooper through out the whole process and was on her best behavior when we went to lunch to celebrate. Her Aunt Betsy is her Godmother and her Great Uncle Paul is her Godfather. It was so fabulous to have our loved ones with us on her big day, although we did miss several important people who couldn't make it. We hate that it didn't work out, but are so glad that we got great pictures and even a video to share with them. Lakely was certainly a spectacle in her long gown and everyone at church had to come over and talk to her. They would tell her how pretty she looked and if she wasn't sleeping, she would flash a super big smile! After lunch we came back to our house for cake and presents. Lakely got some beautiful gifts from everyone; we thank them all so very much!

Great Visit!

We had a fantastic long weekend back in Atlanta! We got to see all the family and friends that hadn't yet met baby Lakely. I was a nervous wreck when we first decided to go because I thought her schedule would be turned upside down. Turns out that she adjusted perfectly and even slept 8-9 hours each night when we were there. I'm sure it was from pure exhaustion from being passed around for 4 days, but it sure was a nice change! Everyone thought she was adorable and of course I agreed! "Uncle" Jon even got her to fall asleep in his arms during his visit; it could help that he has about 20 nieces and nephews ;)

The next couple of days we have to get ready for some company coming to town for Lakely's Baptism. We are so excited that her Godparents could be apart of this memorable day. Grandma B bought Lakely the most beautiful gown I've ever seen for her big day. We thank her oh so much!

2 Months Old

Lakely got her shots today! She was such a big girl; just a little fussing and NO tears. She weighed 12.8 pounds and was 22 1/2 inches long. The nurse said that she's in the 90 percentile for weight and 50 percentile for height. She has been so good today, I was concerned she wouldn't feel good. Last Friday she slept 8 hours and the next two nights she slept 7. I have been feeling like a new woman with all of the sleep that I've been getting! Last night she only slept 5, but that's a given, she's done that for weeks now. Since she's received her shots she'll be allowed to go to the nursery at our gym. I'm so anxious to get in there, I haven't done anything besides walk and I feel a bit "soft." Oh, I forgot to mention that she SMILES now...ALL THE TIME! I love my sweet girl!

So Happy!

Tony and I at a friend's house.

Lakely's friend Kate...they don't know what's going on! Haha!

Lucy and I at the pool! So glad she came to visit us!

Chillin' by the pool :)

Pool time again!

Mommy Check-up

Went to the doctor today for my "6 week" check-up even though it technically has been 7 weeks. She said that all is well with everything and that my incision looks great. I have to go for a gallbladder ultrasound at the hospital though because I've had some crazy upper abdominal pain the past couple of weeks. She wants to rule out gall stones, which is a common problem for pregnant/postpartum women for some reason. Wish me luck! (BTW: I never really knew how much weight I had gained, so I asked the doctor when she had my chart today...43 POUNDS during the pregnancy!!! OMG! And about 15 of it was in the last two weeks of the whole ordeal! So I'm very enthused to announce that I have lost 35 of it, WOO HOO)!

Little Piggies

I never knew how hard it would be to get the house cleaned when you had an infant..well I do now. It took me all day yesterday just to get the downstairs clean and I still have stuff to get straightened up. Today I would like to conquer the second floor, which means the third floor just won't get done!

I took a picture of Lakely in her swing because I couldn't get over her adorable little toes sticking out of the blanket!

Cute :)

This past weekend we ventured out with some friends and went to dinner then back to our house for some drinks. Lakely went out with us and was an absolute doll during dinner and once we got back to our house. It was the first time that I had actually stayed up long enough to enjoy some grown-up time with company, so once I made it to bed around 1:00 am I knew that I would be in for it later that night. She proceeded to wake up at 2, 3 AND 4 so needless to say it took awhile for me to get moving on Sunday!

Lakely and her Daddy were having some quality time the other night and the pictures were just too cute not to post.
