CATCHING UP!

Lakely had her last day at her old school at the end of October. The teachers arranged for a costume parade with a class party afterwards. It was absolutely adorable seeing all the little ones dressed up! Here are some pictures of my candy corn witch and her friends =)

A couple of weeks ago I had my NT test/12 week ultrasound. The baby's measurements were normal and my blood work came back great! So thankful that is over and all is well! The pictures were in my purse a little longer than they should have been; sort of hard to see. (Hope the 3D pics this early doesn't scare you!)

First Field Trip

Lakely's class went to the Clarke Farm Pumpkin Patch and the kids seemed to have a blast! They went on a hayride, picked their own pumpkin, slid down a dirt hill, petted some farm animals, and had a picnic! What a fun-filled morning!

There's a bun in the oven...

This is how I told Tony we were expecting. I had taken a home pregnancy test earlier that morning but he had already left for work. So when he was on his way home that evening I prepped for dinner. He came in and started playing with Lakely and I acted like I needed to go to the restroom and asked him to check the food in the oven (I watched from around the corner.) He opened it, yelled, "there's a bun in the oven!" and closed it. After he said it out loud, it registered, and he opened it again really quick and looked my direction. With a HUGE grin I looked at him and shook my head. He was elated and we hugged for what seemed hours =)

7 WEEKS 6 DAYS

Baby #2 is due May 9th! We couldn't be more thrilled, especially for Lakely. She is the most gentle, kind-hearted 2 yr. old born to be a nurturing big sister. (She's one of the only "big kids" at the gym that is allowed in the infant area to help with the babies =) We told her last week that I had a baby in my belly and she thought that was too funny! Now, when I put her to bed and we say her prayer, she rubs her belly too and says she has a baby. Gotta love it!

Star Student

Miss Lakely is student of the week!! We're so happy for her, you can tell she feels special. One of her homework assignments was to decorate her outlined body with all the things that she loves. She helped pick out the pictures and I glued them on for her. It was so cute seeing her get overly excited about each little picture on the poster. (Please excuse the heinous looking face I drew on it!) I was able to get a few snapshots of her before school yesterday. I couldn't decide which one I like best, so I just posted them all!

Disney On Ice!

We took Lakely to the Dare to Dream show over the weekend. It was all about the different princesses and of course Mickey and Minnie, (her favorite), were there too! It was a 2 hour show and we made it through the entire thing! We even got there about 20 minutes early! I think this will certainly be a yearly event for us!

Is this the one?!

I THINK SO!! Tony and I have found a house-finally! It's not in a location that we had even considered. It's on the water, something that we had never considered. It doesn't have a fence for the dogs, again, something we never considered.

Tony found this property online, and I was a skeptic immediately. It wasn't where I had been looking, it didn't have a fence, and what would we do with a boat dock now that we've sold our boat?! Needless to say, he convinced me to go look at it. It was a wet, rainy day, and all the odds were against this home in my mind.

Once we arrived, the landscape started racking up the brownie points! The lot was beautiful and much larger than we've ever had before. The driveway was nice and flat so Lakely could have a field day with all of her vehicles. We walked in and the smell alone sold me. It still smelt new! It was built in 04 and had the upgrades we'd been looking for. As the tour continued, I knew this was the one! We went back last night to measure some walls and confirm our decision. We're moving at the end of October!! YAY!

Lakely's Mimi was in town this past week and was able to attend Grandparent's Day at school. Lakely seemed really excited to show her around, especially the playground!

Where were you?

The day that the world changed forever, I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. I was 18 years old, still living at home and in my first semester of college. I was about to leave my house when I glanced at the TV and saw all of the commotion on the news. There was video footage of hundreds of people running out of their buildings and down the streets. Smoke had filled the sky when the first tower was hit. I sat watching in awe, unable to pull myself from the television. As soon as I was about to get up and head to class, the other tower was struck. Unbelievable! I remember starting to sob because I'd never seen such a thing. What was happening?! Why were all of these innocent people dying in NY? Still a mess, I headed to school to take my exam. The radio stations were going bananas the entire trip. Right as I had pulled into the parking spot, the school went on lock down- I raced home. The entire country was in a state of panic. Where were you when the world stopped turning?
