Maternity Pics @ 37 Weeks

Doc Update

So, we went to the doctor today for the 38 week appt and were disappointed to find that NOTHING has changed! I'm still sitting at 1cm and she hasn't dropped at all. HOWEVER, the doc did measure me and seems to think that this is a "good-sized" baby and has ordered an ultrasound for the 24th. There are now several options: If the baby is at 9lbs. she is going to do a c-section the 25th. If the baby is "normal" weight and there still isn't any additional dilation, the c-section will be set for the 30th. The baby is still so high that even if she were to induce today, nothing would happen. She thinks it has to do with my body type; maybe the long torso, who knows. If she weighs less than 9lbs and my dilation HAS increased, she's going to let me continue on and see what happens; but promised that she wouldn't let me go longer than 1 week past the due date...SO MANY SCENARIOS! I do like having some idea of what is going on; nervous about the surgery though.

Charleston Shower 36 1/2 weeks

This was during a day of shopping with the Moms in town. We had a little lunch at Red Lobster, and then off to the outlet mall! I swear people were staring at me...probably thought my water was going to break at any moment.



This is from my Charleston shower that Miss Lauren threw for me :) (THANK YOU)! Tony came home toward the end of it after a great day of golf in Myrtle Beach. Man it must be hard being an expecting Dad. (Just kidding babe ;)

36 Week Appt.

I went to the doc last Friday and found out that I'm dilating! Woo Hoo! I'm only at 1/2 a centimeter, but certainly making progress. I typically go every Friday, but this coming week it'll be Wednesday due to the doc being on-call. We are all taking bets on when she'll arrive, so hopefully Wednesday we'll find out even more! I got my strep test back too and it was negative. Another thing I don't have to worry about. That makes me smile :)

Weekly Doc Visits Begin!

I went to the doctor today for my weekly check up. Blood pressure was good, she didn't have any complaints about my weight(what?!), and she didn't seem too concerned when she "checked" me. HOWEVER, she usually is very firm and short with her words when she says that there isn't anything going on down there, and today she was much more relaxed with her explanation. She said that there really isn't TOO much going on...what the heck does that mean?! I guess since she knows I'll be back next Friday, there isn't anything to get excited about. Very interesting indeed I tell ya.

I had such a wonderful time last weekend at my first baby shower! Lucy, Tasha and Kacy hosted it for my family and friends at Mil's house. It was so great to be able to visit with everyone and not feel rushed to go all over town in order to say hello!

I PASSED!!

I got the results Monday for my SECOND glucose test and I passed with flying colors! I'm so glad that's over! The lab tech confirmed that the dessert at bedtime the night before definitely could have contributed to me failing the first one! I've learned my lesson fo sho! The lovebirds married on April 4th at Brookstone Country Club. The weather was fabulous and there definitely some fun times had by all! Here are some pictures of the festivities:

Crap!

I went for my one hour glucose test last Thursday and was anxiously awaiting the results on Friday.....the baby nurse called and I FAILED! UGH! Now I have to go in the morning and venture through the same torture of drinking that nasty drink again! Apparently I'll be hanging out with the nurses for 3 HOURS while they draw more blood over an extended period of time. This stinks, wish me luck :(

Busy, Busy

This past weekend I attended a girlfriend's baby shower here in the neighborhood. Then that evening, attended at bachlorette bash/lingerie shower at another friend's house. I tried my best to hang with the crowd, but ended up hitting the hay around midnight. I think I'm still paying the price because I am EXHAUSTED! It's not even 8:00 pm and I think I'm going to shower and call it a night here very soon! We have Betsy's wedding coming up this weekend and we couldn't be more excited!!! YAY for weddings!!

26 WEEKS

Sorry it's been so long people! Here are several shots from tonight that shows how fast Lakely is growing. She has turned into a little karate kid in my belly. She's discovered that applying pressure to mommy's rib cage is fun, and has managed to keep up the good work over the past several days! Next Thursday I go for the glucose test. Not looking forward to it since most moms that I keep in touch with dreaded it so bad. We'll have our four week check up then too. I am HOPING that we won't have to wait another few weeks for an ultrasound; I'm going to try and talk my way back in the sonogram room while I'm there. It'll have been 8 WEEKS since we last saw her! EWH! Course, we were lucky in the beginning b/c it seemed like we got an ultrasound every time we went to the doc...

24 Weeks!

Holy smokes, the belly has doubled in size the past week...

Nursery

Tony has completed the beautiful nursery!! Lakely is absolutley going to love it! Although we don't have the furniture yet, it's still fun to just go in there and look around; such a cheerful place :)

Wedding Showers Bring May Flowers!

Betsy's friend Robin, and I hosted a bridal shower for her yesterday at Kathy's house. We had a great turn out, and she received tons of fabulous gifts! The wedding is getting so very close; I can't wait! There will be pics to follow, I just have to make my way back to Charleston to do so. Unfortunately, with this LOVELY weather we're having at the moment, my flight has been CANCELLED! I'm scheduled to be on a return flight tomorrow, but I do have this responsibility known as a JOB, so we'll see how they take it :( Hopefully it will actually snow and all this hype won't seem so ridiculous!
