3rd Trimester!

Welp, it's official, we're about to have another kid! I can't tell you how fast this pregnancy has gone. By this time in the pregnancy with Lakely, the nursery was painted, furnished, decorated and all the clothes were washed and ready. We would even have time to go in there and just sit, look, and daydream about our little girl because we were so ahead of schedule on everything. This time, not so much. We did however manage to get it painted; I guess that's a start. Still waiting patiently on furniture and bedding-who knows when that'll come. We did get a crib sheet in the mail though, yippee! ;)

Finally painted!

Lakely had her Valentine's party at school and it was the cutest thing ever! I love getting to watch the kids interact. Here are some snapshots of the day:

I went to the doctor for my glucose test and am thrilled to say, "I PASSED!" I was so nervous because I had to do the 3 hr test with Lakely and it was horrible! Blood pressure was good, weight was decent, and beginning the 29th, I'll see the doctor every 2 weeks!! Insane!

Here is the latest "profile" of Cashton- 28 wks and growing!

Say it isn't so...

We heard it time and time again. Family mentioned it, friends mentioned it, and even the pediatrician warned us at Lakely's 30 month appointment. Two year olds tend to regress at times, especially when there is a lot of change going on in their lives. Tony and I both shrugged it off, thinking our little princess would never do anything to cause us extra stress. Then the changes began.

First, as of last week, she began waking up at 6am. This is very unlike her. She typically starts to roll around and talk to her babies b/w 7-7:30; sometimes even hanging out until 8 or so on the weekends! My has THAT certainly changed. Tony and I talked about it and we felt for certain that it must be her "regressing" since we have Cashton on the way. I guess waking up an hour or so early isn't too terrible. Especially since we've heard horror stories of toddlers acting much worse when a new baby comes along- like potty training regression! So, we felt pretty fortunate...until now.

We spent Saturday running a couple of errands and then back to the house for the remainder of the day and all of Sunday. It was so cold and nasty out that it sounded like the perfect idea. Usually when we stay home, Lakely never has any potty accidents and the only time she ever wears a pull-up is at night. (Which we were starting to consider panties this coming week since she woke up dry several nights in a row.) But, the "slip-ups" began slowly on Saturday. We were in a store and when I picked her up she felt damp. I asked her if she needed to use the potty and she said, "no." Of course we tried anyway, but that isn't like her to deny a trip to the bathroom. All bathrooms are fun to her.

The next day, we all stayed in our jammies and played with new toys from Christmas and relaxed. Never being far from a potty, there shouldn't have been any accidents. Unfortunately there were, about four of them. To make it worse, she never once told us she had to go. Lucky for us, it was all pee-pee issues, but still very disappointing since she has been potty trained for months now.

Lets move on to this morning. She woke up with poop in her pull up- never said a word to me about it. She peed and pooped in her pants within an hour and a half after breakfast. She pooped again after lunch and now has resumed in a pull up for her nap because I don't trust her telling me from the monitor that she has to go.

I researched all sorts of stuff this morning and it sounds exactly like what is going on with her but it is SO VERY DISAPPOINTING! I feel as if we have to start all over again. The frustrating part is that she knows where to go, and how to tell us but now just goes and never says a peep. WARNING to all you moms out there- this can happen to you! AHHHHH!

Don't let this cuteness fool you!

24 Weeks

Mommy update:

I'm feeling pretty good just uncomfortable at times. Cashton moves as much, if not more, than Lakely did- which was A LOT! He is definitely growing faster than my belly so it remains hard and tight at all times. It doesn't help much when I'm trying to eat! Sleeping seems to be getting a little easier these days. I've just discovered that I have to keep a pillow b/w my legs or I wake up constantly. Not too sure why it helps, but it does!

Weight gain- 13.5 lbs.

Food/drinks that make me smile- Pizza, deli sandwiches, iced tea, milk, mac 'n cheese, Jesse's tacos and guacamole, candy

Food/drinks that make Cashton smile- Peanut butter, orange juice, apples, clementines

Mood swings- not really...especially since we have the nursery figured out now.

Maternity gear- I'm holding strong with two pairs of my regular jeans, but I've just broken into my maternity bin as of last week. My every day shirts were starting to look ridiculous and I had my pants unbuttoned (maybe unzipped too) the majority of the time. I forgot how comfortable you really can be when you wear the right size clothing!

Another year has gone and passed that we've been without my Granddaddy. Right before he passed on 1/14/09, I was able to share our exciting news about expecting a baby girl. He had always hoped for a boy, but the good Lord only blessed him with girls! Lots of girls- 2 daughters, 3 granddaughters and at the time, a soon-to-be great-granddaughter. This anniversary has been a little more difficult for me than the last two though. I think about him each night as I glance at his picture before bed and just wish some how that I could share my secret. That I could tell him we finally were going to grace the family with a bouncing baby boy. I'm sure he already knows- probably knew before we did, but I would love to hear his response towards the news this time. I'm sure he would be delighted beyond words...probably even say, "Whoopee," and clap with a big grin on his face. He was the best grandad and it breaks my heart that our kids will never know him. "I wish heaven wasn't so far away..."

Belly Progress

I know I have majorly slacked on my blog for weeks now, but I'm not sure where all my time is going! Every time I turn around I'm another week pregnant and a size bigger! My last OB appointment was mid-November and it went really well. The heartbeat was still in the 150's and my weight gain is sticking around 5 pounds. So no complaints thus far, EXCEPT for the postponement of my 20 week u/s! We were supposed to go in for that appt right before I left for Atlanta, but the practice I go to refuses to perform that u/s before 20 weeks (I'll be 19), meaning I STILL don't know if it's a boy or a girl! Now I have to wait until the 30th and I think I might explode. I'm trying to talk Tony into going to a private u/s practice to get a sneak peak but it's not working....

On another note, Lakely is doing fabulous! She is talking up a storm and has the greatest sense of humor! She is now my #1 shopping buddy; so patient- LOVE HER.

With this second pregnancy, I'm showing so much faster than I did with Lakely...I hope that doesn't mean I'll get bigger than the first! I've been taking belly pics since 7 weeks along, so here are a few to show the progress.

12 WEEKS

16 WEEKS

I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow!

Just a quick reminder of actually how LARGE I was with Lakely...OMG. This is just hours before I delivered- still @ work I'm proud to say!

Hot Tub Wednesday

I was never a big hot tub/spa gal before but we have one at the new house. Unfortunately now that I'm pregnant I can't partake in the fun festivities...However, watching these two splash around in the evenings has become a favorite part of my day!
