Spastic Jumper

Lakely has been taking The Little Gym classes since she was 15 months old and she absolutely LOVES it! Their focus during this part of the semester is jumping with two feet. Supposedly it's a big deal and quite the task for these little guys, (who would have thought)! We were practicing this morning and I have to share her progress- TOO FUNNY!

We may have a b'ball player folks! Yep, she might follow in her father's footsteps. However,...the first chance I find to put her in a cheerleading uniform, it's on!! :)

Online Trout...

How blessed we are to have such an incredible weekend with incredible friends! Lakely and I started it off with some artwork while we waited for Joey & Deanna to arrive from SC. That night, (once Tony finally made it back from Kentucky), we sat around, caught up and enjoyed some much needed adult beverages. Saturday we lounged for the most part of the morning then decided to head to the boardwalk for some lunch and a peak at the beach. We found a great place called Abbey's (I think), where we ended up staying for nearly 3 hours! I have know idea how Lakely was entertained that amount of time, but with the "cheers-ing, father/daughter dancing and playing in the rocks outside, she did very well! Afterward we headed down to toward the sand to take a couple of pictures before papa bear (Tony), made us leave due to the strong wind :P

Once we got home, the boys headed to a bar at the end of the block while Deanna and I were, I think, supposed to be planning dinner, but were not! Haha! They finally got back, we changed clothes, got comfortable and the feast preparation began! It was such a wonderful dinner and we had many more laughs and stories to tell.

Sunday came to quick. The Owens left and then there were three! Since it was another beautiful day, we decided to have a family cook-out that evening and dine on the deck. It was a perfect ending to a great weekend! I can't wait for their next visit!

New Neighbors?

So Grammy and Poppy have put in an offer on a place near us and we're patiently waiting!! Ever since we moved to VA Tony's folks have been wanting to get a second home here so they could be close to us (Lakely). They were two days from closing on another property about a month ago and thank goodness they backed out. Seeing this place and it's location over the other one makes the wait worthwhile. It's so fabulous! Funny thing is, it is right down the street from where Tony and I used to live before! If you would have told me five years ago that we would be back in the same area again, I wouldn't have believed it. I guess we'll just have to see; keeping fingers crossed!

Pigtails and Crew Cuts

Tony and I decided to take Lakely to get her FIRST hair cut today! I was so nervous because I wasn't sure it was all that necessary, but I'm so glad we did it! Now that all the uneven ends are gone, her curls just bounce as soon as they dry.

Despite what her Daddy thought, Lakely acted like a mature little girl and sat there without a peep the entire time! This gives me hope that some day soon we'll be sitting in salon chairs getting our hair and nails "did!" Can't wait :)

20 month check-up...sorta

Her new outfit from Nana


So, our pediatrician doesn't do 18 month check-ups unless there are problems so I have have no idea what my child weighs or how tall she is since her last check-up back in SEPTEMBER!! I took it upon myself to do the basics and here are the results:

Age: 20 months
Weight: 30 lbs
Height: 32.5 in

She loves to eat: Anything! Cheese, bananas, oatmeal, sandwiches, goldfish, green pepper, and spaghetti are among her favorites.

What makes her happy: Being outside, her silky when she's tired, walking the dogs, playing in her mommy's jewelry box, wearing hair bows, and unloading the dishwasher.

What makes her unhappy: Someone trying to help her, bringing her in from playing outside, and when one of the dogs eats her snack.

Favorite words: Yeah, bubbles, uh-uh, buurd (bird), bobo (dog, she used to say it right), what's this (said super fast), bye (sounds really country), night night, and ooohhhhh (if something smells good).

I'll have a more accurate update when big girl turns 2, but for now, this will work :)

My V.A. BFF

Parker and Erin came over to play this morning! We had a super fun time reading books, trying on bracelets, having snacks and going to THE PARK! There were many cute poses to choose from when it came to posting pictures of them playing, but these below were just too much! They've only hung out a hand full of times and you would think they've been life long pals!

Valentine's Week

We had a great week complete with play dates, restaurants, shopping, Little Gym, house hunting, playgrounds and gift giving! Friday we went to a friend's house for a morning get together so the little ones could play for a couple of hours. It was our first time going to their home and I think Lakely really enjoyed it; looking forward to another one soon! My mom came to town Wednesday and we went down to the beach for a yummy lunch @ No Frills Grill and to go check out a beach house that we found online. Lunch was great and the house looked awesome! I just can't decide if I could handle living at the water all year long. There is absolutely no back yard, just another house and the sand...think it would get old?! Anyhow, after that we headed back towards the house for the day and had a family dinner over some Italian.
Thursday we woke up to lots and lots of snow! We had a slow morning, Lakely napped and my mom and I sat around, drank coffee and chit chatted for awhile- so nice and relaxing! After nap time we all got ready and headed to the MALL! Gramma bought the princess some super cute clothes and we played on the playground for a bit.
That night we dined on some Mexican. We found a place that makes Guacamole at your table- INSANE! Lakely absolutely loves it, she double dips like it's her job. Who would of thought that a toddler would like that?!
Friday was a big date night for Tony and I! He had been traveling during the week and I had been looking forward to this for days!! My mom stayed in and watched Lakely while we took on the town- so much fun! We went to a place called STILL for some drinks and Tapas. Headed on over to Roger Browns for another drink, then stopped back off at a bar near our house before we walked home...I have to admit, we should have come home right after our first stop because we sure paid for it on Saturday!! IT WAS AWFUL! I haven't felt that sick since before Lakely was born! I just kept thinking we had to stay out because we could, not because we should. Oh well, we wasted our Saturday and chilled on Sunday! Lakely happened to be an angel over the weekend thank goodness!!

Winter Wonderland

We just got back from an incredible week long vacay with family! Tony's Aunt Georgia has a condo in Winter Park, CO, which she offered to Tony's parents this year since they couldn't make it. (Tony, Lakely and I gladly tagged along). The first day we tried tubing just to see how Miss Lakely would do out in the cold for an extended period of time. Needless to say she loved it! She had a grin on her face the entire time. The next several days, Tony and I hit the slopes while Grammy and Poppy babysat. They played in the snow, made bracelet stew, went shopping and decided to try tubing again. Honestly, I don't think she missed us too much! The 19th happened to be Grammy's birthday so we decided to take her on a sleigh ride. It was a first for all of us, and given the frigid conditions, it was actually a lot of fun! Towards the end of the week Kyle (a friend from college), got to meet up with us since he currently lives in Colorado Springs. He is an avid skier and I thought for sure him and Tony would leave me behind but they didn't! We all stuck together and ended up having a BLAST! All in all it was a perfect vacation! Thank You Mil & Fil!!
